“We are excited to once again have Childress Idol as one of the official festival events happening in October,” said Stephanie. “There are so many talented singers in our area…it is going to be a lot of fun hearing all of the contestants and selecting a winner.”
Each year, a six-block region of the downtown area is filled with arts and crafts vendors, entertainment stages, street performers, and fun festival food. Three large tents serve up thousands of pounds of barbecue sandwiches, freshly made from area restaurants. The Barbecue Carnival and Family area provides all kinds of fun activities for children. And, everyone loves the “Hogway Speedway” racing pigs!
The Barbecue Festival, set for Saturday, October 27, is also free to the public. For details on all the entertainment and activities, go to www.barbecuefestival.com.
