Pepsi "Pig Tale" Writing Competition - October 1-October 19

  • Pepsi Bottling Ventures, in conjunction with the 28th Annual Barbecue Festival, is pleased to announce the 2011 Pepsi "Pig Tale" Creative Writing Contest. Entries are categorized by age groups: Grades K-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8, Grades 9-12, and Ages 18 & Up.

  • The first place winner in each category will be awarded a one-year supply (20 cases) of Pepsi Cola Products! Winning entries will be read at the 28th Annual Barbecue Festival held Saturday, October 22, 2011. So, let your imagination run "hog wild"!  There are sure to be some s"pork"tacular tales.

1st Annual Barbecue Festival Cornhole “Throw Down” W. 2nd Avenue. Join the fun and participate in the first annual cornhole tournament!  You can win prizes and bragging rights! Proceeds benefit United Way of Davidson County and a cornhole board set will be auctioned off for the Kay. K. Saintsing Memorial Fund benefiting the Mental Health Association in Davidson County.

On-site registration will begin at 9:00 a.m.
